Audit-ready fieldwork reports: notes, summaries, one button

Your monthly report can now carry your hour entry notes and supervision activity summaries, generated from one Report button that works on your phone. How v1.3 makes fieldwork reports audit-ready.

Share

Audit-ready fieldwork reports are the quiet test of a tracking tool. Logging hours is the easy half. The hard half arrives later, when a supervisor, a program, or the BACB® asks you to show your work, and the answer has to be organized, complete, and ready in minutes. With v1.3, ABA Fieldwork Tracker pushed its reports further in both directions: more of your record can go into them, and generating one is now the same simple step everywhere, including on your phone.

What a report has to carry

Fieldwork documentation is retained for at least seven years, by both the trainee and the supervisor, and an audit can ask for it at any point in that window. A report that only lists hours tells a thin story. The strong version shows the month the way it happened: the hours, the supervision that covered them, and the context that explains what the numbers mean. That is the standard we build reports toward, and it is the difference between reconstructing a year from memory and pulling a document.

Choose what goes in: notes and supervision summaries

The Report window now has two options. Include your hour entry notes, and include your supervision activity summaries. Turn either on and each prints in its own row directly under the hour entry it belongs to, so the context sits exactly where a reader needs it.

Both options are off by default, which means your default reports stay exactly as they were. Some months a clean numeric report is right. Some months, an auditor or a program wants the full narrative. Now that is your call to make, report by report, and it costs you one checkbox instead of an evening of copy-and-paste.

One Report button, everywhere

The Dashboard and Progress pages now share the same Report button, and it opens a mobile-friendly window with three clear choices: Open in New Tab, Save as PDF, or Print. No more dropdown falling off the edge of a phone screen. Reports opened in a new tab show the app icon and a real title, like “June 2026 Report”, with a loading indicator while your PDF is prepared, so ten open tabs on exam-prep night stay tellable-apart. On mobile, the Monthly Breakdown’s Total row on the Progress page now displays as a full-width card with a label on every value.

Reports that show progress, not just compliance

Audits are the dramatic use case, but most reports are generated for a calmer reason: showing someone how it is going. A monthly report with your hours, your supervision, and your notes is a progress document, whether the reader is your supervisor, your program, or you in eighteen months trying to remember how a placement went. Pair it with Export Hours and your record is available in every form that matters: verified PDF reports for the official story, CSV for your own files.

The supervisor side

Supervisors sign what these reports document, so v1.3 fixed the workflow on that side too: the Report button while viewing a trainee’s dashboard now correctly generates that trainee’s monthly report. If you supervise, the supervisor view gives you each trainee’s month and the documents behind it, in one free account.

Key takeaways

  • Your monthly report can now include hour entry notes and supervision activity summaries, each printed in its own row under the hour entry. Both are off by default, so existing reports are unchanged.
  • One Report button on Dashboard and Progress opens a mobile-friendly window: Open in New Tab, Save as PDF, or Print.
  • New-tab reports carry the app icon and a real title, with a loading indicator while the PDF is prepared.
  • Supervisors generate a connected trainee’s report correctly from that trainee’s dashboard.
  • Fieldwork documentation is retained for at least seven years by both parties; audit-ready reports are how that obligation stays painless.
