Frequently asked questions
How many fieldwork hours do I need for BCBA certification?
2,000 hours on the Supervised Fieldwork pathway, or 1,500 on Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork. For BCaBA certification the totals are 1,300 supervised, and 1,000 concentrated pre-2027 or 800 under the 2027 standards. The tracker configures the targets to your exact pathway.
What is the difference between supervised and concentrated fieldwork?
Concentrated fieldwork requires fewer total hours but more supervision each month: 10% of monthly hours instead of 5% pre-2027, and 7.5% for BCBA candidates under the 2027 standards. Each concentrated hour carries roughly 1.33x the weight of a supervised hour for BCBA candidates.
When must the monthly verification form be signed?
The M-FVF must be signed by the trainee and supervisor by the last day of the calendar month following the month of supervision; otherwise no hours are eligible for that month. The in-app signing workflow keeps the deadline visible.
How long must fieldwork records be kept?
At least 7 years, by both the trainee and the supervisor. Records in ABA Fieldwork Tracker are retained in line with that window and are always exportable.
Does the BACB require a specific tracker?
