There are 8 BACB certification pathways: BCBA and BCaBA each have 4 combinations of pre-2027 or 2027+ standards with supervised or concentrated fieldwork. RBT certification tracking is planned on the ABA Fieldwork Tracker roadmap.

What are the total fieldwork hour requirements for BCBA certification?

BCBA supervised fieldwork requires 2,000 total hours under both pre-2027 and 2027+ standards. BCBA concentrated supervised fieldwork requires 1,500 total hours under both standards.

What is the supervision percentage minimum for BACB fieldwork?

Supervised fieldwork requires a minimum of 5% supervision. Concentrated fieldwork requires 10% under pre-2027 standards or 7.5% under 2027+ standards.

What is the monthly hour cap for BACB fieldwork?

Under pre-2027 BACB standards, the monthly cap is 130 hours. Under 2027+ standards, the monthly cap increases to 160 hours. Both standards require a minimum of 20 hours per month.

How many hours does RBT certification require?

RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification requires 40 hours of training, all of which must be supervised. A competency assessment and background check are also required.
