How it works
5% of your service hours, worked out
Every calendar month starts fresh. Multiply that month's service hours by 5%, and that is the least supervision the month needs.

How do I calculate RBT supervision hours?
Multiply the behavior-analytic service hours you provide in a calendar month by 5%. 120 service hours × 5% = 6 hours of supervision that month, spread across at least two face-to-face, real-time contacts.
What counts as service hours?
The hours you spend providing behavior-analytic services that calendar month, not your total or payroll hours. The 5% is worked out from those service hours only.
I work for two organizations. How does the 5% work?
Per organization, each on its own. The RBT Handbook says RBTs working at different organizations must meet all requirements independently at each organization: they cannot have 3% supervision at organization A and 2% supervision at organization B. Add each one to the calculator.
Do I need supervision in a month I don't provide services?
No. In a month with no behavior-analytic service hours, no supervision is required. Each month starts fresh, and extra supervision never carries over.
Can group supervision count?
Yes. One of your two monthly contacts may be a small group of 2 to 10 RBTs, as long as at least one contact is individual. There is no cap on group supervision hours for RBTs.
Is there a BACB form for monthly RBT supervision?
The BACB does not currently publish an official monthly RBT supervision form, and records are not routinely submitted. You and your supervisor each keep them for at least seven years. In ABA Fieldwork Tracker you sign our own Monthly Supervision Record together.
