    How many fieldwork hours do I need for the BCBA?

    2,000 hours of supervised fieldwork, or 1,500 hours of concentrated supervised fieldwork, on both the pre-2027 and the 2027 standards. For the BCaBA: 1,300 hours of supervised fieldwork, or concentrated supervised fieldwork at 1,000 hours (pre-2027) or 800 hours (2027). All of it within five consecutive years.

    How many hours a month count toward fieldwork?

    At least 20 and no more than 160 hours a month on the 2027 standards (130 on the pre-2027 standards). A month under 20 hours earns no eligible hours, so the calculator never plans a month below 20 or above the cap.

    How is my estimated completion worked out?

    Your pathway's total hours minus the hours you have completed, divided by the hours you log in a month, rounded up to whole months, with this month as the first. Plan by a finish date instead and it divides the hours left by the months until then. It is an estimate for planning: your signed monthly forms are the record.

    Which standards should I choose, pre-2027 or 2027?

    The standards follow when the BACB receives your complete application, not when you started fieldwork. Received by December 31, 2026: the pre-2027 standards. After that: the 2027 standards. If your estimated completion lands in 2027 or later, the calculator points it out.

    Can I mix supervised and concentrated fieldwork?

    Yes. Each month's type is decided on that month's Monthly Fieldwork Verification Form: if the month meets the higher concentrated requirements, its hours may count as concentrated. The calculator plans one type at a time. In the app, a mixed BCBA or 2022 BCaBA account counts concentrated hours toward the supervised total by the BACB's multiplier (1.33 for BCBA, 1.3 for BCaBA), with the math shown; a mixed 2027 BCaBA account shows each type's share of its own total.
